Thank you for visiting Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions! Our mission is to help as many greyhounds as possible to find good homes in central Florida or with one of our adoption group partners in the northeast. We work closely with the racing kennels at Sanford Orlando Kennel Club, the Sebastian Haul Fund, Greyhound Pets of America in Daytona Beach, Orlando and Central Florida, the Greyhound Advancement Center, and our partners to the north at Gold Coast Greyhounds Gainesville to meet these goals. We appreciate the hard work of our volunteers to further this mission.

Gold Coast's main fundraiser is Life's Abundance; you can click the logo to read up on the incredible benefits of its pet foods and products that so many of our adopted dogs and their families benefit from. Gold Coast volunteers work with two branches, the main one in Winter Park, and a second branch in Gainesville. You can view our available dogs under the Adoption tab, but keep in mind that many more dogs are waiting in adoption and race kennels that we do not have a place for in foster care. Our program is operated only through the generous time and devotion of our foster homes. We are always in need of more foster homes.

Gold Coast Greyhounds is composed of numerous foster homes and volunteers that make it possible to find good homes for these wonderful dogs. We couldn't do this without our volunteers. We couldn't do this without our volunteers. Some volunteers specialize in fostering, transportation, fundraising and gathering donations, planning events and emergency response for lost or injured dogs. All aspects of volunteering are appreciated and help further our mission.

We are so happy and proud of the veterinarians who work with us!

Dr. Rick Rubenstein and Dr. John Turgai at Park Avenue Animal Hospital are our primary consultant and caring vets for the majority of our greyhounds. The clinic is located in Apopka at 847 Park Avenue. Dr. Rubenstein has been with Gold Coast Greyhounds from the very beginning. The entire staff offers care and medical support for many of our adopters.

Dr. Kim Neitzel, owner of Garden Veterinary Hospital at 308 E. Par St, joined the Gold Coast Greyhound partnership a couple of years ago.. Dr. Neitzel specializes in surgery and acupuncture. She offers a less stressful environment for pets in a garden-like setting.

Our meet and greets involve going to local community events such as the Doggie Art Festival and Rescue Fest sponsored by Pookie’s Bow Wow Bakery and Pet Nutrition. We also show the dogs at Sanford-Orlando Kennel Club who also support our adoption efforts with regular donations. Many of our dogs come from Daytona Beach Greyhound Pets of America. Our relationship with Daytona has evolved into a mutual give and take as we help some of their medical and behavioral challenges and move these dogs into foster homes and eventually into a permanent home.
